JOANN BRICKLES, age 88, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Court House Manor.
She was born on March 24, 1936 in Dexter, Ohio to the late John and Gertrude Nelson. She was a 1954 graduate of Rutland High School in Meigs County. JoAnn was a babysitter for many years. She was a long-time member at the McNair Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school. JoAnn was also a fifty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed cooking, watching the Cincinnati Reds, playing Bingo, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Brickles, whom she married in 1958; and siblings, Jack (Mary) Nelson, Denver (Oma) Nelson, Ronnie (Margaret) Nelson, Hope (Vern) Peck, and Macil Nelson.
Survivors include her children, Jerry (Kristi) Brickles, Larry (Patty) Brickles, and William N. “Bill” Brickles; grandchildren, Beth (Ben) Hallauer, Kyle (Ashley) Brickles, Nick Brickles, Emily Brickles, and Owen Brickles; and great-grandchildren, Henry, Jaxon, and Liam. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Watters officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
