JOHN MARK BOLTENHOUSE, age 85, of Washington CH, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at 5:50 p.m. at Adena Fayette Medical Center.
He was born on July 21, 1936 in Circleville, Ohio to Alonzo and Mildred Alice (Parker) Boltenhouse. John was a member of the Carpenters Union and worked as a carpenter for many years before transitioning to a farm manager for the former Terra Horse Farm in Fayette County. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mowing his lawn, raising Wolf Hybrid’s and Saint Bernard’s and being with his family and grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Barbara Boltenhouse; daughter, Tammy Boltenhouse; and sister, Mary Alice Boltenhouse.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Jo (Hodge) Boltenhouse, whom he married on April 8, 2000; step-children, Tammy (Mark) Rarey, Julie (Robert) Caldwell, and Donald Johnson; grandchildren, David McKee, Rubie (Derek) Hottinger, William (Deanna) Caldwell, Jonathan Caldwell, Caitlin Caldwell, Paige (Cody) Rinehart, Andrew Johnson, Chelsea Johnson, and Michael Johnson; great-grandchildren, Isiah, Matthew, Allie, Landon, Aayden, Logan, Leilah, Eli, Zackery, Gracelynn, Brennah, Kyleigh, Kennedy, Kelsey, Carter, Brailyn, Kaisyn, Rayleigh, Jayden, Bentley, and Braxton; siblings, Naomi (Herb) Zickfoose, and Carolyn (Leroy) Farris. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Hodge officiating with burial to follow at the New Holland Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
