John Edward Viar, Jr.

JOHN EDWARD VIAR, JR., age 76, of Washington CH, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 12:40 p.m. at his home.

He was born on June 12, 1945 in Pike County, Ohio to John E. Sr. and Beatrice (Lawson) Viar. He attended Latham High School in Pike County. John proudly served his county in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He retired from the Intelligrated Company in London, Ohio. John was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed going to car shows, NASCAR, listening to country music, and being with his beloved family.

John was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Jane Williams, Sharon Eiring, Robert Viar, and Richard Henderson.

Survivors include his wife, Belinda L. (Binegar) Viar, whom he married on July 18, 1970; daughters, Staci Viar, and Deanna (Tom II) Little; grandchildren, Dylan (Hayley) Little, Kelsea Viar, Tommy III (Nichole) Little, and Bethany Viar; great-grandchildren, Jalen Viar, Cerene Viar, Willow Viar, and Jackson Little; sister, Priscilla Sines of Waverly, Ohio; and his faithful canine companion, Bandit. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear and special friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at ProMedica/Heartland Hospice for their exceptional care during this difficult time.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Hodge officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. In keeping with his wishes, cremation is to follow.
