JOHNNY A. LUTE, JR., age 31, of Washington CH, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 8, 2021.
He was born on October 24, 1989 in Fayette County to Johnny Lute, Sr. and Susan Lute. He is survived by his parents; stepfather, Luther McCarty; grandparents, Bill and Alice Bennett; brothers, Dustin Smith and James Miller; nephew, Jaden Miller; niece, Zoey Miller; special friends, Amy Preston and Maloree Preston; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends. He is preceded in death by grandparents; Ralph and Mary Lute and Larry and Sue Coonrod.
Johnny worked at Hope House Homeless Shelter in Pickaway County. Johnny enjoyed helping others, playing Xbox, boxing/fighting, working on cars, shoe shopping, and cracking jokes. He was a wonderful Uncle to Jaden and Zoey. His infectious smile and laugh always lit up the room.
Johnny’s heart was completely invested in helping those suffering with addiction. He gave his all to the recovery community. Johnny volunteered in the winters at the Ross County Emergency Homeless Shelter, providing resources to those in the community needing assistance. Johnny was a passionate advocate for the Safe Haven Darts, LLC program. He was very dedicated to his Safe Haven family and inspired others to seek what he had found. Johnny was a member of the Open Door Church in Chillicothe, Ohio. Johnny fellowshipped at many NA and AA meetings in Southern Ohio. He could be found weekly at the RecoverWe, Keep it 100, and Celebrate Recovery meetings.
In true Johnny Lute style, a Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home in Washington CH. Family and friends may visit Thursday morning at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Bloomingburg Cemetery immediately following the service.
