JOSEPH MICHAEL “MIKE” WILSON, age 76, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 5:50 a.m. at Court House Manor after a lengthy illness.
He was born on October 22, 1943 in Franklin County to Joseph Maxwell “Max” and Theresa Margaret Long Wilson. Mike lived his entire life in Washington CH. He was a 1961 graduate of Washington High School where he excelled in baseball and basketball. After high school, he was employed by Morris Bean. Mike was active as a Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball Coach; he also assisted his father for many years with the P.A.L. Babe Ruth Program. He was an all-around avid Blue Lion fan. Mike was also a longtime member at the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Seth Douglas Wilson.
Survivors include his sons, Mike (Janey) Wilson of Washington CH, Jim (Beth) Wilson of South Lebanon, and Brian Wilson and his special friend, Kim Iles of Wilmington; sister, Patty (Allen) Griffiths of Washington CH; grandchildren, Kiersten Wilson, Logan Wilson, Camden Young, and Tiffany Clay; nephew, Derek (Jessica) Griffiths of Parker, Colorado; great niece, Emma Griffiths; and great nephew, Alexander Griffiths. Also surviving are several cousins and host of friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church, 219 S. North St., Washington CH, OH 43160, with Rev. Father Tim Lynch officiating with burial to follow at the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the Summers Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5-7:00 p.m.
