Karol E. (McCune) Wolfe-Thompson

KAROL E. (MCCUNE) WOLFE-THOMPSON, age 82, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at St. Catherine’s Manor of Washington CH where she had resided since November of 2023.

She was born on October 11, 1941 in New Holland, Ohio to the late Leland M. McCune and Gertrude M. (Thompson) Butler. She was a 1959 graduate of Washington High School and later obtained an associate degree from Baker College in Owosso, Michigan. Karol worked in missions and was very passionate about helping others, she retired from Fayette Bible Church and School where she had worked in custodial services. She was a faithful member at the Fayette Bible Church in Washington CH. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, painting, quilting, and spending time with her beloved family.

In addition to her parents, Karol was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, James H. Wolfe; sons, Jeffrey D. Wolfe, and Brian L. Wolfe; stepson, Craig Thompson; grandson, Christian Evan Burge; and siblings, Ronnie McCune, Donnie McCune, Steven Butler, and Jon Butler.

Survivors include her husband, David Hubert Thompson, whom she married on October 10, 1998; her children, Kari (Mark) Burge, and Mark (Kathy) Wolfe; step-children, Rene (Ken) Otto, Eric Thompson, and Jessica Davidson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Cheri (Marty) Martin, Dale (Denise) Butler, Bruce (Gail) Butler, Greg (Connie) McCune, Doug McCune, Beth Davidson, and Debbie Thompson. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear and special friends.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fayette Bible Church, 1315 Dayton Ave. NW, Washington CH, OH 43160 with Pastor Tony Garren and Rev. Curtis Burge officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the church on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
