KENNY D. “EARTHQUAKE” HESS, age 62, of Washington CH, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 3:53 a.m. at the Adena Fayette Medical Center. His death was sudden and unexpected.
He was born on January 29, 1960, in Jamestown, Ohio to the late Donald and Helen (Huffman) Hess. He was a graduate of Wilmington High School and Laurel Oaks Joint Vocational Trade School where he studied to become an electrician. Kenny worked as a skilled electrician for most of his life; he had also been employed at Sugar Creek Packing where he worked in maintenance. He was a faithful member at the Bible Baptist Temple. Kenny was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed listening to music, collecting old vinyl records, and was an avid CB Radio enthusiast.
In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica Hess; granddaughter, Isabella Graham; and brother, Carey Hess.
Survivors include his wife, Clarissa Lyn (Martindale) Hess, whom he married on June 13, 2009; his son, Brad (Laci) Hess; step-children, Ira (Kennedy) Graham, Martin (Jasmine) Graham, Alycea Graham, and Sarah Tackett; grandchildren, Lexi, Brock, Brentley, and Ariel; siblings, Jane “Vonnie” Huff, and Kevin Hess; in-laws, Rick (Marlene) Martindale; brother-in-law, JR (Karen) Martindale; and his beloved canine companion, Hank. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. at the Bible Baptist Temple, 4361 SR 41 NW, Washington CH, OH 43160, with Pastors Trent Spangler and Andrew Johnson officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Tuesday evening from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
