KURT ERNEST KEATON, age 53, of Washington Court House, passed away at 4:10 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He was born on April 14, 1971, in Franklin County to the late Emmert F. and Mary B. Smalley.
Kurt was a 1990 graduate of Westfall High School and had worked as an HVAC Technician for Atlas Butler Heating and Cooling. He was a former volunteer of the New Holland Fire Department, a member of the New Holland Masonic Lodge #392 and was also a member of the Mid-Ohio Jeep Owners Association. Kurt enjoyed painting, collecting coins, fishing, hunting and just being outdoors in general.
Survivors include his daughter, Megan (Devon) Taylor; his granddaughter, Everly Taylor; his siblings, Ginia (Todd) Posey, Pat (Susie) Sapp and Debbie Southward. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Jason (Sandy) Snyder, Samuel (Jessica) Posey and Madelyn and Noah Posey, along with several other nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, Kurt is preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Sapp and Freddie Keaton and his sister, Susan Kay Snyder.
In keeping with Kurt’s wishes, cremation will take place. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, in the New Holland Cemetery.
