LeTonda Marchele Thompson

LETONDA MARCHELE THOMPSON, age 57, of West Carrollton, formerly of Washington CH, passed away peacefully from this life on Thursday, February 27, 2020 after a nine-year battle with breast cancer.

She was born on April 29, 1962 in Fayette County to the late George Anna Thompson. She was a 1980 graduate of Washington High School. After high school, she furthered her education at The Ohio State University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree and a Juris Doctorate Degree. LeTonda was a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. While living on the East Coast, she worked for the State of Delaware and the Sysco Corporation. She was most recently employed as a Human Resource Director for the Developmental Disabilities of Clark County in Springfield, the legal research company, LexisNexis, and the Community Blood Center/Community Tissue Services in Dayton. She was so fortunate to make life-long friends anywhere and everywhere she went. LeTonda was raised at the First Church of God on Harrison St. in Washington CH. She enjoyed being with her family and friends and was an avid Ohio State fan.

LeTonda was preceded in death by her loving aunt who raised her, Georgianna “Aunt G” Bailey.

Survivors include her sister, Elise Thompson; brother-in-law, Antione Blevins; nieces and nephews, Candes Thompson, Georgia Thompson, Ellis Igo, Micha Igo, Marcquada Thompson, Markayla DeBruce, Marcellis Thompson, and Antione Thompson; eight great-nieces and nephews, all of the Dayton area; and her special friends and caregivers for the last five weeks of her life, Monica and Marla Marsh of Mason, Ohio. Also surviving are several cousins and a host of loving friends.

The graveside committal service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends are encouraged to meet at the Summers Funeral Home, 223 W. Market St., Washington CH, OH 43160, at 12:30 p.m. to process to the cemetery.
