LESLIE ANN HAVENS, age 52, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at the Dayton Hospice House where she had been a patient for only a few short hours.
She was born on June 17, 1972 in London, Ohio to the late John Harold and Opal Marie (Estle) Whiteside. She was a graduate of Washington High School and attended Wright State University to study Early Childhood Education. Leslie was a stay-at-home Mom, she raised her son, Brandon, and her four-legged babies. She enjoyed reading, cooking, shopping, couponing, and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Leslie was preceded in death by her uncle, Bob Estle; nephew, Nick Havens; in-laws, John and Winnie Havens; and brother-in-law, Chris Havens.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, John Howard Havens, whom she married on January 5, 2003; her son, Brandon (Alexa) Havens; brother, Rodney (Dorothy) Whiteside; brothers-in-law, Tony (Sarita Brown) Havens, and Eric (Linda) Havens; sister-in-law, Amanda (William) Harper; aunt, Teri Knisley; special friends, Mike (Judy) Gill, Traci Barton, Kathy Sharp, Amy Detillion, and Anita Carson; her dogs, Ash, Boomer, and Bandit; and her feline companions, Mittens, Boots, Tiny, and Chubs. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Joy Stanforth officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
