Lloyd E. "Dash" Eggleton

LLOYD E."DASH" EGGLETON, age 86, of Washington CH, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Born on August 13, 1936 in Winfield, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Thomas and Allie May Phelps Eggleton. On November 12, 1977 he married his wife of forty-four years, Marilyn June, who preceded him in death on August 14, 2021.

Lloyd had worked as a farmhand and truck driver for the family farms. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, watching Gunsmoke, feeding the squirrels, playing horseshoes and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Darlas Walden, Joey Boussard, Chad Eggleton and Angela Eggleton; his grandchildren, Miranda Eggleton, Melissa Williams, Keri Leach, Kimberly Gowen, Amy Sutton, Charlas Abramson, Alexus Eggleton, Olivia Morrison and Marissa Nichols. Also surviving are twenty-two great-grandchildren; his sisters, Ruth Shrum and Jane Price along with several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

In addition to his parents and wife Marilyn, Lloyd was preceded in death by his first wife, Laura Sue Eggleton, his children, Barbara Williams and Andy Eggleton; his siblings, Carl, Woodrow, George “Bill”, Charles “Sam”, Leo, Buford “Dick”, James “Jack”, Edith Petry and Kathleen.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Todd Maurer officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
