Lorin Dale Ritenour Obituary

LORIN DALE RITENOUR, age 88, of Jeffersonville, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday morning, April 25, 2025 at his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Kathryn (Wingate) Ritenour, and his grandparents, Lorin and Blanche (Hays) Ritenour, and Burt and Mary (Coffee) Wingate.

He was a 1954 graduate of Jeffersonville High School and attended The Ohio State University to study Agriculture. Dale was a Sergeant in the United States Army Reserves. He was a lifelong farmer in Jefferson Township and a faithful member at the Jeffersonville United Methodist Church, and the Challengers Farm Corporation Council. He was also a coach for little league and 4-H Advisor.

Dale served on the Board of Directors for Fayette County, the Ohio Federation of Soil & Water Conservation Districts, Buckeye Countrymark, Fayette County Livestock Producers, Fayette County Farm Bureau, Community Improvement Corporation, and the Southwest Port Authority. He was also active in the Jeffersonville Masonic Lodge #468 and Order of the Eastern Star. These organizations have afforded him many longtime friendships that he valued dearly.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of sixty years, Kay (Shriver) Ritenour; his son, Mark Dale (Grenetta) Ritenour; grandchildren, Melissa (Jon) Custer, and Samantha Ritenour; great-grandchildren, McKinley, Callie, and Josie Custer; and sister, Carolyn K. Bailey.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. A private burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
