Marion Max Carson

MARION MAX CARSON, age 82, of Leesburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at his home while surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 29, 1942 in Franklin County to the late Richard Marion and Marjorie Olive (Gilliand) Carson. He was a graduate of Greenfield McClain High School. Marion retired from Johnson Controls in Greenfield; he also farmed for many years. He enjoyed watching all sports, some of his favorite teams included the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Reds, and the Ohio State Buckeyes; he also liked to work in his garden and spend time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Marion was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Gloria Carson; and his second wife, Alice Eileen Mullikin-Carson.

Survivors include his children, Bruce A. Carson, and Melissa L. Swift; grandchildren, Kayla Taylor, Derrick Carson, Miranda Russell, Rachel Johnson, and Richard (Alexandria) Russell; great-grandchildren, Landon, Aden, Trey, Rilyn, Kahlen, Mackenna, Brooklynn, Isacc, Jasmine, Jaxson, Mason, and Kaden; sister, Nancy Melson; and niece, Lori (Chris) Clark.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Greenfield Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
