Mary Jane Calentine

MARY JANE CALENTINE, age 86, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 6:32 p.m. at her home.

She was born on May 8, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan to AC and Cecilia Cullen Lamkin. She was a 1951 graduate of Annunciation Catholic High School in Detroit. Mary Jane was last employed at the Board of Elections in Fayette County. She was an active long-time member at the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church. Mary Jane was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitching, going to church, and being with her family.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Leslie Calentine, whom she married on September 25, 1954; and her siblings, Robert Lamkin, Roy Lamkin, Donald Lamkin, Florence Wilde, Dorothy Pelvas, and Jean Jorgenson.

Survivors include her children, Tim (Joyce) Calentine of Washington CH, Patty (Earl) Monroe of Washington CH, and Richard “Rick” (Kristen) Calentine of Bedford, Indiana; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County for all the amazing care they provided.

In keeping with Mary Jane’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
