MARY EILEEN HOWLAND, age 60, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at The Ohio State East Hospital.
She was born on July 12, 1962 in Wichita, Kansas to the late John Robert and Doris Devine (Thompson) Lutz. She was a 1980 graduate of Washington High School and attended Peace Officer Training at Ohio University in Chillicothe. Mary had worked as a Correctional Officer at the Madison County Correctional Institution. She was a lifetime member at the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching NASCAR, cooking, spending time with her family and grandchildren, and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her siblings, Linda Reser, and Bernie Lutz.
Survivors include her children, Stacey Liston, Chad Howland, and Heather Howland; grandchildren, JD Liston, Allie Liston, Kasey Liston, and Colton Henthorn; brother, Bobby Lutz; and special friends, Jerry and Brenda Smith. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church with Fr. C.M. Haddad officiating with burial to follow at the St. Colman Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the Summers Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 4-6:00 p.m.
