Michael Allen Crabtree

MICHAEL ALLEN CRABTREE, age 60, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Cedarvale Commons Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, while surrounded by his loving family. His death was sudden and unexpected.

He was born on May 27, 1965 in Greenfield, Ohio to Wendell and Ruth (Johnson) Crabtree. He lived most of his life in New Holland. He enjoyed basketball and loved all his friends he made at Cedarvale Commons, where he received excellent care for the last five years.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Wendell Crabtree; maternal grandparents, Wilgus and Mary Lou (Bryant) Johnson; paternal grandparents, Clyde and Kathryn (Reisinger) Crabtree; brother, Jeff Crabtree; and brother-in-law, Jerry Grooms.

Survivors include his mother, Ruth Crabtree; his sisters, Linda Grooms, and Becky Crabtree; niece, Kari Jones; and nephews, Scott Dailey, and Kory Walters.

“Mikey” will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Bennett officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
