Nancy Walters Obituary

NANCY SUE WALTERS, age 76, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. at her home while surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 7, 1944 in Fayette County to Robert and Mary (Williams) Graves. She attended Washington High School. Nancy retired from Thatcher’s Plastic Packaging and in her retirement, she worked part-time at Carriage Court. She also enjoyed volunteering at Fayette County Memorial Hospital. Nancy was a faithful member at the Grace United Methodist Church and cherished her Bible study classes. She loved spending time with her family and friends, shopping, reading, going out to eat, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she loved her vacations to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger Lee Walters; sister, Rebecca Ann Davis; and son-in-law, Rick Malott.

Survivors include her children, Mary Jo DeMent, Tracy Malott, and Doug (Cheri) Penwell; grandchildren, Taryn (Wayne) Eggleton, Cody (Heidi) Malott, Shannon Garringer, Colt Penwell, Conner DeMent, Caleb Penwell, and Caden Penwell; great-grandchildren, Tyler Eggleton, Jalyn May, Tanner Eggleton, Westyn Harris, and Brooks Malott; and her beloved canine companion, Lily. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear and special friends.

Nancy’s family would like to thank the staff at Heartland Hospice of Circleville for all of their care and support.

The graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at the Sugar Creek Baptist Cemetery with Mell Wickensimer officiating.
