NORMA JEAN MCCOWN, age 78, of Washington CH, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024 at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.
She was born on March 22, 1945 in Fayette County to the late Norman T. and Marjorie M. (Grooms) Copas. She attended Washington High School. Norma retired from MWV Calmar after thirty years of service. She attended Heritage Church until her health would no longer allow. She enjoyed cooking, watching The Ohio State Buckeyes, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her siblings, Bootie Copas, Sharon Knisley, and Delcie Mae Bowman.
Survivors include her children, Rhonda M. Copas, William G. McCown, and Richard A. (Melissa) McCown; grandchildren, Katie (Tim) Karwatske, Becky (Ryan) Barnard, Cameron (Jesse) McCown, Mercedes (Justin) Jester, Casey McCown and her fiancé, Scott Bowman, Brady McCown, and Jacob McCown; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Alex, Matt, Eli, Emilie, Stella, Maddie, Raylynn, Chase, Parker, Enoch, and Harden; siblings, Sue Garinger, and Lonnie (Teresa) Copas; and sister-in-law, Carol Copas. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. at the Washington Cemetery with Rev. Becky Barnard officiating. Family and friends may visit at the Summers Funeral Home on Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
