Paul Douglas Straley

PAUL DOUGLAS STRALEY, age 69, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2025 after a lengthy battle with COPD, at the home of his mother and sister, who had taken care of him since his retirement in 2020 for various health reasons.

He worked forty-six years in the plumbing and heating business. For the last thirty-four years he had been the manager at Carr Supply. He loved his work and interacting with his customers. He spent many weeks working sixty-plus hours.

Paul was born on June 25, 1956 in Fayette County to Delmar and Rosemary (Leeth) Straley. He was a 1974 graduate of Washington High School and was a lifelong resident of this community.

He was preceded in death by his father, Delmar Straley on June 20, 2009 and his sister, Patricia Ann Knisley Rutter on February 3, 2015.

Survivors include his mother, Rosemary Straley; sister, Vickie Lynn Straley; and nephews, Ray Knisley and his children, Raelyn, Sophia, and Levi, and Patrick (Candace) Knisley and their son, Cody. Special friends, Tabby Steward and Chuck Furness along with many other friends and relatives.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
