Paul Smith Obituary

PAUL RICHARD SMITH, age 58, of Washington CH, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020 at 7:35 p.m. at his home.

He was born on October 5, 1961 in Fayette County to Harold and Leila Dixon Smith. He had attended Miami Trace High School. Paul was last employed at the Yusa Corporation in Washington CH and had also worked various other jobs including the Cartwright Salvage Company. He had attended the Southside Church of Christ. He enjoyed working on derby and classic cars.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Teresa Lynn Summers; granddaughter, Sharalynn Smith; and sister-in-law, Tammy Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Verda Howland Smith, whom he married on May 21, 1988; children, Paul W. Smith, and Shane Smith Sr.; grandchildren, Paul R. Smith II, and Shane M. Smith Jr.; great-granddaughter, Juniper Smith; and siblings, Harold (Marilyn) Smith, Melinda (John) Matson, Sheridan Smith, Lloyd (Vicky) Smith, Tonda Wilson and her friend, Mike Barnhill, and Veronica McCullah and her friend, Frank Sterling. Also surviving are numerous children and grandchildren whom he helped raise, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A private graveside service will be held at the Good Hope Cemetery with Pastor Todd Maurer officiating.
