Paul Sweeney Obituary

PAUL RICHARD SWEENEY, age 68, of Washington CH, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 8:30 p.m. at his home while surrounded by his family.

He was born on December 21, 1953 in Lowell, Massachusetts to the late Armand and Jacqueline (Hall) Sweeney. Paul proudly served in the US Marine Corps and received an honorable discharge after four years of service. Paul had worked for New Sabina Industries until he became unable to work due to his illness. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his siblings, Arthur Sweeney, Carol Sweeney, Donald Sweeney, and Norman Sweeney.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Grace (Smith) Sweeney, whom he married on July 20, 2001; his children, Paula Bennett, Shane Sweeney, Justin Sweeney, Westly Ryan, Stacy (Robert Fulton) Ryan, Janice (Nathan Howland) Ryan, Donald (Amanda) Ryan, and James Smith; grandchildren, Jada Ryan, Khalia Smith, Jakarah Howland and also numerous other grandchildren; and siblings, David (Margaret) Sweeney, Robert (Cheryl) Sweeney, and Ethel Sweeney. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at the Washington Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
