PHILLIP ALAN CRAGO, age 82, of Washington CH, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024 at his home.
He was born on February 4, 1942 in Ross County, Ohio to the late Jesse Samuel and Margaret Jane (McCalla) Crago. He was a 1960 graduate of Jeffersonville High School. Phillip proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He worked as a farmer and a mechanic at ABX Air in Wilmington, Ohio from 1999-2007. He enjoyed NASCAR, gardening, mowing his lawn, working on cars, dirt track racing, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Danny Lee Southward.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Deborah Sue (Southward) Crago, whom he married on September 2, 1977; children, Amy (Aaron) Hartley, Chance Merriman, Hillary Crago, and Derek Crago; grandchildren, Graham, Carter, Karleigh, Cameron (Sarah), Shelbee, Shane, Taya, and Taylynn; sister, Carolyn Schwan; nephews, David (Polly) Schwan, and Douglas Schwan; and sisters-in-law, DeDe (Robert) Johnson, and Dory Southward. Also surviving are several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Adena Fayette Medical Center, Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, and Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County for the wonderful care they provided us during this difficult time.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
