Phyllis Mae Harrington

PHYLLIS MAE HARRINGTON, age 78, of South Solon, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 2:41 a.m. at Mount Carmel Grove City.

She was born on October 16, 1942 in Ironton, Ohio to Leslie and Martha A. (Miller) Bloomfield. After obtaining her GED, she furthered her education and graduated from Columbus State where she obtained a degree in civil engineering. Phyllis retired early from the City of Columbus so she could care for her daughter. Phyllis was known for her kind and caring heart and was lovingly referred to as “Mom” and “Grandma” by many. She enjoyed listening to the music of Elvis Presley, loving her animals, and being with her precious family.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Chief Master Sergeant, Nancy Jane Boyle; and siblings, Clifford, Helen, Woody, Martha, Edgar, Leslie, Cora, Richard Lee, and Dallas.

Survivors include her children, Loraine Baughn, Randy Sr. (Davena) Boyle, Jarritt (Margo) Mullins, James LeRoy “Bud” Porter, Rhonda (Lonnie) Hixon, Tonda Ray, Steve (Tara) Harrington, and April Harrington; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Margaret, Dora “Midge”, and Timothy. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear and special friends.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 10-12:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place and she will be interred in the family plot in Lawrence County, Ohio at a later date.
