He was born on April 18, 1960 in Fayette County to the late Ralph Eugene and Bina Lou (Spangler) Fast. He retired in 2017 as an assistant superintendent of the wastewater treatment plant. He was also a drilling operator at Bowser Morner in Dayton, Ohio. Ralph was active in raising his sons. He coached little league baseball in New Holland and was a Boy Scout leader for several years. He enjoyed watching his sons and eventually his grandchildren play sports. Ralph loved watching football and was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his sisters, Pam Woodrow, and Rita Biecheler.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Toni Lynn (Penwell) Fast, whom he married on October 5, 1980; his sons, Chad (Shoshannah) Fast, and Chase (Candice) Fast; seven grandchildren; and siblings, Wanda Coil, Daisy (Steve) Shiltz, John (Carla) Woodrow, and Linda Hartsaugh. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends, as well as Sheena Fast.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Hodge officiating with burial to follow at the Bloomingburg Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4-7:00 p.m.
