REV. ROBERT EDWARD TAYLOR, age 96, of Washington Court House, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at his home. He was born on December 7, 1927 in Brookville, Pennsylvania and was the son of the late Grover and Dora Kahn Taylor. On August 5, 1950 he married his wife of sixty-nine years, the former Beulah Lee Weaver, who preceded him in death on July 24, 2019.
Robert graduated high school in Brookville and received his Bachelors Degree from Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois. He pastored full time from 1953-1991 in the Nazarene Church at various locations on the Southwestern Ohio District. Robert loved music, singing, and playing the piano. He also enjoyed playing Scrabble, gardening, cooking and baking.
Survivors include his children, Nancy (Tim) Bailey, Roger (Lorrie) Taylor, Robin (Rick) Hough, Julie (Richard) Redding and Phillip Taylor; his eleven grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. Also is his longtime friend and faithful caregiver, Phil Collie along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, and loving wife, Robert was preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024 in the First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Dan Justice officiating, burial to follow in the Highlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday at church from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
