Richard Beechler Obituary

Richard E. Beechler, age 84, of Greenfield, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Adena Regional Medical Center. Born on February 1, 1940, in Ross County, Ohio, he was the son of Ernest Beechler and Roberta (Kerr) Beechler. He was the eldest brother of Charlie Beechler (Shelia), Geanie Herman (Russell), and Janet Payton (David).

Richard graduated from McClain High School in Greenfield, Ohio. He was a loving father to his two children, Douglas Beechler (Krystal Weddington) and Kerrie (Beechler) Obert. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball and basketball, and he was a passionate supporter of his children's school events. Even after his children graduated, Richard continued to attend local high school basketball and football games. In his younger years, he was an active member of the Elks and enjoyed golfing and playing basketball.

Together with his beloved wife, Connie (Blair) Beechler, Richard owned and operated several businesses in Washington Court House, Ohio. He enjoyed working not just for the tasks at hand, but for the people who visited his office. His door was always open for those seeking a cup of coffee or his advice. Richard worked nearly every day until a few days before his death.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Beechler and Roberta (Kerr) Beechler. He is survived by his wife, siblings, his children, his stepson, Robert Penrod, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren: Michael Beechler (Chelsie), Jordan Beechler (Kaitlyn), Jacob Beechler, Caleb Pierce, Blair Penrod, Kyle Weddington (Belen), Codie Weddington, Connor Weddington, Nathan Beechler, Marlie Beechler, Nico Beechler, Colt Beechler, and Joey Beechler.

The family has chosen to remember Richard privately and no services are scheduled.
