Richard Allen Smith

RICHARD ALLEN SMITH, age 60, of Washington CH, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 at his home. His death was sudden and unexpected.

He was born on December 24, 1962 in Fayette County to the late Homer Earl and Inez Irene (Jarnigan) Smith. He was a 1981 graduate of Miami Trace High School and lived all of his life in this area. Richard was a highly skilled carpenter and helped build several houses throughout Fayette County. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, and fishing.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brothers, Arnold Lewis, Roger Lewis, and Larry Lewis.

Survivors include his only child, Justin Richard Smith; siblings, Pam McGinnis, Patty A. Trenner, Rita Runnels, Brenda (Ronnie) Scott, Teresa Crafts, Lynn (Pete) Harperree, Tammy (Skip) McGuire, Homer Smith, Jr., Cheri Smith, and Karl B. (Amy Jo) Smith; and the mother of his son, Melinda E. Smith. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
