ROBERT WAYNE “BOB” LEETH, age 80, of South Salem, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2021.
Bob was born on October 25, 1941 to Elizabeth (Hodson) and Gilbert Leeth in Washington CH, Ohio. He graduated from Washington High School and studied at Wilmington College.
Bob married his childhood sweetheart, Shirley Milstead, in June of 1961. Their 60th wedding anniversary was celebrated this year. Bob had worked many years for his father-in-law, Everett Milstead, at Milstead Tire. He then went on to start a successful hunting/trapping supply store, Paint Creek Outdoor Supply. After moving to the South Salem area in 1991, Bob worked for several years in maintenance in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Bob’s passion was the outdoors, and he was an avid hunter, trapper, and fisherman. He had many adventures during his life and was always looking for new areas to explore. He adored his wife and was proud of his family. He was always willing to lend a hand and help others in need. Bob was a loving spouse, father, and grandfather. It is impossible to put into words what he meant to his family. He will be missed, but his family takes comfort in knowing that he is now walking with Jesus, holding his granddaughter’s hand, and seeing his parent’s smiling faces.
Bob was an only child and was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Gilbert Leeth, his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Inez Hodson, paternal grandparents, Frank and Adda Leeth, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Everett and Nina Milstead, and his granddaughter, Annika Miller.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Leeth. He is also survived by his three children, son-in-law, and daughter-in-law. Melissa (Leeth) and Ben Gibson, Melanie (Leeth) and Keith Miller, and Rob and Jami (Nowdesha) Leeth.
Bob was blessed to have eight grandchildren and four, soon to be six, great grandchildren. Ashley (Miller) and Zack Matson, Trace Matson, Claire Matson, Amber (Miller)Patterson, Alexandra Patterson, Austin Miller and Brandon Loper, Maxwell and Lisa (Sawyer) Gibson, Grace Gibson, Katlynn Leeth, and Trapper Leeth.
Bob loved the Lord and one of his favorite bible quotes was from Matthew 6:34. “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
