ROBERT ALAN “GOOBER” JACKSON, SR., age 62, of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. He was born in Fayette County on March 23, 1959 to the late Robert and Mary (Grooms) Jackson.
Goober worked most of his life as a farm hand. He enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his dog Jamie whom he loved dearly.
Survivors include his children; Lacey (Chad) Minnie, Sheri (James) Stiles, Jennifer Dodd, Tiffany (Brian) Tolliver, Rachael (Gary) Powell, Clarissa Browning, Heather Holt and Robert Alan Jackson, Jr.; sisters, Deborah (Dave) Gragg, Janet Stevens, Julie Allen (Steve Wilson), Nancy (Jeremy) Brown and Billie Jo (Barry) Leslee; eighteen grandchildren; and his beloved canine companion, Jamie. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Goober was preceded in death by his parents, nephews; Jimmy Jackson and George Robert Allen, Jr. and brother-in-law, Jim Stevens.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 25th at 5:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Joy Stanforth officiating. Friends may visit with the family at 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Cremation will take place following the service.
