Robert Lee Wade

ROBERT LEE WADE, age 85, of Sabina, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 9:09 a.m. at Mount Carmel West.

He was born on July 19, 1933 in Madison County to John and Eulalia Pope Wade. He was a 1953 graduate of McClain High School in Greenfield. Bob had worked at Pennington Bread until they closed and retired from Laurel Oaks where he worked as a custodian. He enjoyed going to tractor pulls, traveling with his family, collecting Allis-Chalmers toy tractors, and was a Chevrolet enthusiast.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Gladys Derring, Vernie Wade, Doris Davis, and Kenneth Wade.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Poplin Wade, whom he married on March 7, 1958; children, Robbie (Harry) Gillman, and Melvin (Karen) Wade; grandchildren, Amber Kinsey, Stephen (Amber) Clark, Spencer Clark, Maria (Josh) Sexton, and Joseph Gillman; great-grandchildren, Bryland Kinsey, Colten Kinsey, Aubirella Kinsey, and Ezekiel Sexton; siblings, Jack Wade, and Grace Roush; and special friends, Tom and Ruth Shoemaker, David Hixon, and Warren Pauley. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor John Laufer officiating with burial to follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Sedalia. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2-5:00 p.m.
