RONALD LEE “RON” DOWLER, age 82, of Washington CH, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the Adena Fayette Medical Center.
He was born on August 9, 1939 in Fayette County to the late Paul “Bus” and Mildred (Cummings) Dowler. He was a 1958 graduate of Washington High School. After graduation, Ron attended Wittenberg University. Ron was a bricklayer and earned his 50-year gold card for his service from BAC Local 45 out of Chillicothe. He taught Masonry at Laurel Oaks Technical School from 1976-1980. Ron attended Heritage Memorial Church and was also a long-standing member of the Wilmington Emmaus Community (Walk #18). He enjoyed traveling, painting, ceramics and being with his beloved family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife, Eleanor Louise “Ellie” (Shumaker) Dowler, whom he married on July 22, 1961; daughters, Sherry (Don) Leis and Jennifer (Robert) Koontz; grandchildren, Logan Leis, Madison Leis, Justin Koontz, and Kyle (Ashley) Koontz; and great-grandchildren, Karter and Jaxson. Also surviving are several cousins and a host of dear and special friends.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heritage Memorial Church, 1867 US Highway 35 NW, Washington CH, OH 43160, with Joy Stanforth officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the church on Thursday evening from 4-8:00 p.m.
