RONNIE LEE BEEKMAN, age 77, of Leesburg, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023. He was born on May 21, 1946 in Fayette County and was the son of the late Asa and Maudie (Hill) Beekman. On August 2, 1964, he married his wife of fifty-nine years, the former Penny Jones, who survives. 

Ronnie was a graduate of Miami Trace High School. Ronnie retired from Alro Steel in Columbus where he had worked as a truck driver for more than twenty years. He enjoyed spending his free time with his family doing things like building bonfires for his grandchildren and taking Sunday drives with Penny to Hocking Hills and Marysville. Ronnie also like to go camping, fishing, collecting antiques, going to yard sales, and in his younger years going hill climbing on his motorcycle with friends. 

In addition to his wife, Penny, survivors include his daughters, Sandy (Jason) Snyder of Arlington, Texas, Rebecca Brown of Peebles and Ronda LeMaster of Reynoldsburg; his brothers, Jim Beekman of Cocoa, FL and Donnie Beekman of Washington C.H.; his sister, Gladys Adams of Tarlton. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Along with his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother, Norman Beekman. 

Friends may visit with the family from 5-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 in the Summers Funeral Home. Following visitation, cremation will take place and burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
