Ruth Alice Overly

RUTH ALICE OVERLY, age 89, of Washington CH, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 at the Adena Fayette Medial Center Emergency Department shortly after her arrival.

She was born on November 13, 1934 in Fayette County to the late Robert C. and Jessie (Coil) Sexton. She was a 1952 graduate of Wahington High School. Ruth was a homemaker and stay-at-home-mom to her only child. She attended the Grace United Methodist Church when her health would allow. She enjoyed collecting dolls and painting.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Overly.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Edwin Overly, whom she married on August 9, 1953 and her sister and brother-in-law, Roberta and Thomas Miles.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services will be held.
