Ruth Ellen Self

RUTH ELLEN SELF, age 92, of Washington CH, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Legacy Chillicothe. Her death was sudden and unexpected.

She was born on October 10, 1931 in Fayette County to the late Lafe and Martha (Cline) Lambert. She attended Jeffersonville High School. Ruth worked as a cook at the Terrace Lounge for more than thirty years. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, McDonald’s Coffee, and was an avid Ohio State football fan.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband, Pearl E. Self, Jr., whom she married on March 27, 1953; and her siblings, Irene Dilley, Mary June Reisinger, Joe Lambert, and Alfred Lambert.

Survivors include her children, Larry "Dean" (Jana) Self, Cindy Self, Stacey (Katrina) Self, and her granddaughter she raised, Salina (Brad) Tong; grandchildren, Keith Self, Kevin Self, Sabrina Montgomery, Amber (Todd) Cole, Holly Self and her fiancé, Charlie, Johnson,  Justin (Tara) Self, Cayleb (Jesslynn) Siacca-Cox, Brayeson Self, Bleighton Self; great-grandchildren, Kylee Tong, Kamryn Tong, Hunter Tong, Goldie Cole, Khloie Noelle Self, Khloie Blanche, Owen Self, Kaylen Siacca-Cox, and Brantley Siacca-Cox. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Skaggs officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
