Sarah "Jane" Elliott

SARAH “JANE” ELLIOTT, age 97, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Court House Manor.

She was born on March 23, 1927 in Scioto County, Ohio to the late William E., Jr. and Sarah B. (Benner) Long. She was a 1945 graduate of Clarksville High School. Jane retired from the former Revco Store in Washington CH where she had worked as a salesclerk for many years. She enjoyed bird watching, vacationing in Gatlinburg with her late husband and making big homemade meals for her family.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald E. Elliott, whom she married on April 2, 1961; eleven siblings; and son-in-law, Tom Quigley.

Survivors include her daughters, Shirley Quigley, and Diane (Stan) Brown; grandchildren, Shawn (Tonnetta) Quigley, Cameron Quigley, Todd (Amanda) Brown, Jenny (Nate) Byrnes, and Troy Brown; great-grandchildren, Scotti, Stella, Nora, Austin, Connor, Mackenzie, Emma, and Annie. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor John Pfeifer officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Immediately following the burial, all are welcome to join the family for a meal at The Gathering Place Church at 240 Courthouse Pkwy, Washington CH, OH 43160.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County, 222 N. Oakland Ave., Washington CH, OH 43160.
