Scott Andrew Lyons

SCOTT ANDREW LYONS, age 44, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati following a brief illness.

He was born on October 6, 1979 in Fayette County to Ricky Alan Lyons and Dessie Katherine (Streitenberger) Kearns. He attended Miami Trace High School and later obtained his GED. He was a highly skilled contractor who installed installation for a living. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, he was an avid Dungeons & Dragons gamer, and was also a Pittsburgh Steelers and Michigan Wolverines Football fan.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Ricky Lyons; grandfather, James Penwell; father-in-law, Charles Mettler; and his best friend, Kendell Penwell.

Survivors include his loving wife, Bonnie Jean (Mettler) Lyons, whom he married on March 10, 2010; children, Brandon Mettler, Charles Mettler, Sylar Lyons, and Kendell Lyons; grandson, Alexander Wright-Mettler; his mother, Dessie “Kathy” Kearns and her fiancé, Tom Higgenbotham; grandmother Carolyn Penwell; mother-in-law, Wanda Jaeckels; siblings, Wayne (Dan) Roberts, Richard (Edith) Lyons, and Ronalee (Jake) Mongold; sisters-in-law, Tara (Jason) Jaeckels, and Amanda (Scott) Penrod.  Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Summers Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. with Jay Simmons officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
