Shirley Ann Hays

SHIRLEY ANN HAYS, age 75, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at her home.

She was born on March 10, 1950 in Fayette County to the late Harley and Rowena (Houser) Manns. She attended Miami Trace High School, Class of 1968. Shirley retired from New Sabina Industries in Sabina, Ohio. She enjoyed going to church, spending time with her family and grandchildren, and she loved her animals.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved son, David Lee Sims; and siblings, Annabelle McCullah, Barbara Jean Elkins, Leroy Manns, Ray Manns, and infant, Martha Manns.

Survivors include her daughters, Krista Sims, Dawn (Glenn) Stepter, and Sylvia (Benne) Cooper; grandchildren, Tyler Davis, Lance (Erica) Gookenbarger, Terrence (Joy) Harris, Lauren Harris, Draven Haines, Deja Cooper, Tryce Cooper, Donnell (Marcus) Buchammer, Ciara (Joshua) Walker, Aaliyah Cooper, and Gia Stepter; several great-grandchildren; and siblings, Carolyn Cooper, Donna Thomas, Lester (Stephanie) Manns, Larry Manns, and Clarence Manns. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear and special friends.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Davis officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
