VERNON EUGENE MYERS, age 70, of Washington CH, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 5:55 p.m. at his home.
He was born on July 7, 1949 in Fayette County to Frank and Mamie Shackelford Myers. He had attended Washington High School. Vernon proudly served his country in the US Army. He had held several professions throughout his life, including being a cook at the former Anderson’s Restaurant in Washington CH. He was a professional musician and played for the Tri-County Country Band for many years. He and his son, Shawn, owned and operated Myers General Construction, and he had also worked as an electronic technician. Vernon had been a member at the Center Christian Church in Jeffersonville. He enjoyed playing music, fishing, camping, and being a Licensed HAM Radio Operator with call letters, KC8DQO.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jacqueline Marie Pettit Myers, whom he married on October 27, 1971; and his brother, John Beaudoin.
Survivors include his children, Barbara (Dennis) Gray, Delaine (Kris) Stephenson, Tim Myers, Regina (Robert Jr.) Bain, Donna Myers, and Shawn (Debbie) Myers; twenty grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; in-laws, Sandy (Jim) Meyer, Susie (Gary) Liff, and Randy (Brenda) Pettit; special niece and caregiver, Jamie Meyer; cousin, Jane Ann (Bob) Massie; and his faithful canine companion, Odie. Also surviving are several other nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at the Washington Cemetery with Pastor Randy Lee officiating.
