Virginia Reid "Ginny" Anderson

VIRGINIA REID “GINNY” ANDERSON, age 93, of Washington C.H., passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 5:55 a.m. at Miami Valley Hospital.

She was born on August 18, 1923 in Bellefontaine, Ohio to Dr. Mac J. and Connie Wright Reid. Ginny was a 1941 graduate of Bellefontaine High School and had also attended Ohio Wesleyan University where she studied Liberal Arts. She had worked as a homemaker and also as a trucking agent. She enjoyed spending time at the Carnegie Public Library, reading, going out to eat, and being with her family and friends.

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Pattie Dow, and one brother, William Reid.

Survivors include her children, Connie (Robert) Elliott, James (Phyllis) Anderson, Steve Anderson, and Peggy Barnes, all of Washington C.H.; grandchildren, Dr. Laura (Julie) Elliott of Rochester, MN, James R. Anderson and Donald W. Anderson, both of Washington C.H., Henry Barnes, and Audrey (Nate) Justice, all of Grandview Heights; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister, Mary Ellen (Frank) Purkey of Springfield; and niece, Nancy Jean, of California.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Current officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5-8:00 p.m.
