Walter Ernest Fox, Jr.

WALTER ERNEST FOX, JR., age 77, of Washington CH, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024 at his home.

He was born on October 11, 1947 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Walter Ernest, Sr. and Dixey May (Hill) Fox. Walter had worked at the Washington City Schools for twenty-seven years as a custodian and retired in 2014. He enjoyed visiting the Casino in Columbus to play the slot machines, playing cards, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deborah Sue (Bunch) Fox, whom he married on February 23, 1968; brother, Keith (Polly) Fox; brothers-in-law, James Bunch, Donnie Bunch, Larry Morris; and sister-in-law, Iva Morris.

Survivors include his children, Walter (Amy) Fox, Melisa (Larry) Aleshire, Shane (Regina) Fox, Dwayne Fox, and Dwight (Melody) Fox; grandchildren, Lucian Fox, Trenden (Brittani) Fox, Kaitlyn Althouse, Jonathan Althouse, Michael Althouse, Jeffrey (Hannah) Wilson, Dustin Wilson, Elizabeth Aleshire, Katie (Clay) McClatchie, Shane Fox, Taylor Fox, Tasha Fox, Dwayne Fox, Skylar Fox, and Joshlyn Fox; numerous great-grandchildren, and sisters-in-law, Mary (Hughey) Rayburn, and Sue Bunch. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Esto Haithcock officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
