Wanda L. "Bonnie" (Simmons) Freeman White

WANDA LAVAUN “BONNIE” (SIMMONS) FREEMAN WHITE, age 90, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at St. Catherine’s Manor of Washington CH.

She was born on September 13, 1934 in Jeffersonville, Ohio to the late Jayhue and Marie (Harris) Simmons. She was a 1952 graduate of Jeffersonville High School. Bonnie had worked at Fayette County Head Start and as a secretary at Southern State Community College. She was a long-time member at the Apostolic Church on Hickory Lane where she played the piano for thirty-nine years. She enjoyed baking, decorating cakes, playing the piano, and listening to gospel music.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Lee Freeman; her second husband, Edward White; son, Kevin Freeman; infant grandson, Robert Elvin Mickey; son-in-law, Chris Mickey; and siblings, Marita Simmons, Marvin Simmons, Cleetta Brown, Lois Still, and Paul Simmons.

Survivors include her children, Kathy Mickey, Keith Freeman, and Kim (Bruce) Bolden; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Dwight Simmons; and brother-in-law, Willie Brown. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and a host of special friends.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Wolfe officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
