WILDA EVELYN HAYNER, age 80, of Washington CH, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 3:32 a.m. at her home.
She was born on June 1, 1938 in Pike County to William and Minnie Ousley Prater. She was a 1956 graduate of Greeneview High School in Jamestown. Wilda retired from the Colonial Stair and Woodwork Company in Jeffersonville. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed walking her dogs, sitting outside in her swing, watching old westerns and keeping up on current news.
Wilda was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Carey, Wayne, Lucine (Elsie), David (Melody) Jean, and Velma (Fred); and brother-in-law, Roger Deatley.
Survivors include her daughters, Nina (Dana) Willett, and Tina Hayner; grandchildren, John Jr. (Bobbi) Gill, Brooke (Justin) Steen, and Paige (Charles Jones) Hayner; great-grandchildren, Trevyn (Asia Russell) Henry, Blake Gill, Elektra Steen, and Archer Steen; great-great-grandchildren, Haisley, and Emma Henry; siblings, Annie (Ray) Huff, Thelma Deatley, and Johnny (Evelyn) Prater; and her faithful canine companions, Max, and Mickey. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public viewing or service. Interment will take place at the Fairview Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
