WILLIAM EDWARD “BILL” RADABAUGH, JR., age 78, of Mt. Sterling, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 8:20 p.m. at his home with his wife by his side.
He was born on May 15, 1942 in Madison County to William Edward Sr. and Barbara Louise (LeBeau) Radabaugh. He was a graduate of Madison South High School, Wilmington College, and received a Master’s Degree in Education from Wright State University. Bill taught Spanish and Mathematics at Lancaster City Schools and retired from the Miami Trace School District. Also while teaching at Miami Trace, Bill was an educator in the adult education (GED) program. He was also employed at the old Pennington Bakery and Nationwide Insurance in Columbus. Bill and his wife, Suellen attended the Madison Mills Methodist Church. He was a proud member of the Mt. Sterling Masonic Lodge 269; Bill was a Mason for over 42 years. He served as the Master of the Mt. Sterling Masonic Lodge in 2010 and was a member of the Ninth Masonic District, London Chapter, London Council, London Commandry, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, and also the Kentucky Colonels. He enjoyed genealogy, traveling, obtaining his amateur pilot license, but most of all he loved being a grandpa, lovingly known as “Papaw Egg.”
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beverly McGraw; and brother-in-law, Sonny Graumlich.
Survivors include his wife, Suellen (Graumlich) Radabaugh, whom he married on June 24, 1967; his son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Angie Radabaugh of Texas; grandchildren, Aidan, Avery, and Connor Radabaugh; sister, Judy (Jim) Davis; sister-in-law, Dr. Sally Graumlich; brothers-in-law, Jim Davis, Jim McGraw, Sid Graumlich, Steven Graumlich, and Dr. Tim Campbell. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, “old students,” and a host of dear and special friends.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. immediately following the Masonic Service at the Judy Memorial Chapel located at the Washington Cemetery, 1741 Washington Ave., Washington CH, OH 43160, with Mell Wickensimer officiating with burial to follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Range Township. Family and friends may visit at the Judy Memorial Chapel on Tuesday afternoon at 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
